Prospect Park Zoo
Things to Do
-
Northside
In the zoo’s Northside area, you’ll find a series of aviaries featuring beautiful Asian birds, including the brilliantly colored Himalayan monal and the chattery white-crested jay thrush. This area is also home to Pallas’s cats, wild felines from central Asia.
-
Discovery Trail
A great place to escape from the city and explore at your own pace, encountering red pandas, dingoes, and a host of beautiful birds.
-
Hall of Animals
From dwarf mongooses to dart frogs, some of our smallest but most amazing species reside in the Hall of Animals.
-
Animal Lifestyles
Explore the lives and behavior of a diverse range of species, including Geoffroy’s marmosets, native to small fragments of rainforest in eastern Brazil. WCS works within this species’ range and in many South American countries to reconcile the needs of human development and wildlife conservation.
-
Barn and Garden
Enjoy a great day on the farm right here in Brooklyn with our friendly, gentle animals. For a true treat, dole out a handful of grain.
-
Sea Lion Court
In their pool at the heart of the park, our sea lions are some of the zoo’s most popular residents. They’re also noisy, particularly during training time.
