Sheep for All Seasons

Breeds of sheep at the Prospect Park Zoo include Jacob’s four-horned and Shetland sheep. The area also features Nigerian dwarf goats, miniature zebu and miniature Juliana pigs.

Caring for Alpacas

Alpaca wool is always growing, so these animals need a trim periodically. The professional shearer who helps us each spring can completely shear a sheep or alpaca in 5-10 minutes. Our team works to keep the animals comfortable during the process.
