Sheep for All Seasons
Breeds of sheep at the Queens Zoo include Jacob’s four-horn, Shetland, and Southdown sheep. Our sheep are shorn in the spring to ensure that they stay comfortable during the warmer months.
Caring for Alpacas
Alpaca wool is always growing, so these animals need a trim periodically. The professional shearer who helps us each spring can completely shear a sheep or alpaca in 5-10 minutes. Our team works to keep the animals comfortable during the process.
