We provide unforgettable experiences for your camper including age-appropriate, hands-on activities, up-close animal experiences, time to explore the park and tons of educational fun that builds on campers' innate love for our wild planet.

Summer Camp at the Prospect Park Zoo
In-person summer camp is back at the Prospect Park Zoo and it's going to be WILD! Campers will explore the zoo and learn about our animals like never before! This small-group experience brings all the fun of Zoo Camp with health and safety as a top priority. Scroll down for our camp schedule and descriptions! All camps run from 9:00a - 3:00p Monday - Friday each week unless otherwise noted.

Animal Tales
Kinderzoo summer campers will discover that every living thing plays an important role in nature as we spend the week bringing classic children’s stories to life through animal encounters, dramatic play, games, and exhibit visits. NEW! Join us for two weeks by enrolling in our Animal Tales and Story Safari sessions!

Story Safari

Entering 1st - 3rd Grade
Week of Wildlife: Adventures in Nature
Earth, air, fire, water, and heart - how do people and animals utilize these elements? Campers will meet animals up close and complete nature-based challenges to discover how animals work with the elements to survive. From composting leftover food scraps, to creating safe habitats for local wildlife, summer campers will learn about conservation actions that will create a healthy planet for us and our wild neighbors.
Entering 4th - 6th grade
Zoo Explorer: Myths, Legends, and Science of the Animal Kingdom
How did the turtle get its shell? How did the snake lose its legs? Campers will explore amazing animals in mythology and discover the natural phenomena behind legends and folklore. Through up-close animal encounters, investigations of scientific principles, games, and adventure, summer campers will uncover the amazing biology behind the adaptations that may have inspired these enduring stories!


Entering 1st - 5th grade
Zoo-manji
Roll the dice and jump into an epic week of zoo adventure! Each day campers will come face-to-face with wild creatures, overcome unexpected quests, and journey through the realms of Zoo-manji. With inspiration from wildlife, up-close animal encounters, and science investigations, campers will work together to beat the game. Does your summer camper have what it takes to play Zoo-manji?

Prospect Park Zoo will offer ANIMAL TALES & ZOO-MANJI most weeks from June 20 - September 2. The week of July 5 - July 8 is a 4-day camp week and it will be prorated accordingly. |

Extended Care
Extended Care is a great add-on option for caregivers who can't pick their summer camper up at 3:00pm, allowing caregivers to pick up anytime before 5:00pm. Extended Care includes free play, exhibit visits, and nature play exploration (weather permitting). Minimum number required to run the program. Add on items like Extended Care and additional summer camp t-shirts when adding your selected camp purchase to your cart.
Accessibility
Participants in this program will spend most of the day outdoors during a range of weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and precipitation, as well as travel over uneven, natural surfaces. Accommodations may be available.Please contact us for more information.
