Along the Way

Keep your eye out for tufted deer, a small species of Asian deer named for the thick tuft of black hair on top of their head, native to central China and northeastern Myanmar. And dingoes are a species of wild dog found throughout Australia.

Otterly Amazing

North American river otters live in inland wetlands, coastal areas, estuaries, and marshes. Otters are members of the weasel family - a group of carnivorous mammals which also includes badgers, ferrets, mink, and wolverines. While some members of this family are solitary, North American river otters can be quite social.

In the Exhibit

Dingo

Dingoes are highly intelligent and enjoy problem solving. They love it when we hide food inside boxes, bags, or paper that they need to take apart in order to access their treats.

Red Panda

Adult red pandas have reddish-brown and black coats that serve as camouflage in the wild. Panda cubs are born much lighter in color and have a very soft, plush coat.

Emu

Native to Australia, the emu is the second-largest living bird by height, after its relative, the ostrich. The flightless birds can reach over six feet in height.
