Sheep for All Seasons

Breeds of sheep at the Prospect Park Zoo include Shetland sheep. The area also features Nigerian dwarf goats, miniature zebu and miniature Juliana pigs.

Caring for Alpacas

Alpaca wool is always growing, so these animals need a trim periodically. The professional shearer who helps us each spring can completely shear a sheep or alpaca in 5-10 minutes. Our team works to keep the animals comfortable during the process.
