Q & A
How did you find out about the program?
Through online research on conservation programs for teens, and through partner organizations.
Why did you choose to get involved?
I was looking for conservation oriented sites, and a way to join like minded teens in New York.
What is your favorite part about the website?
I like the blogs. I like the fact that they are interactive, and that you can post what you've been working on.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I graduate in 2 years, and would like to take a gap year to travel and volunteer. After that, I hopefully will be working in sustainable design.
How do you feel you're making a difference?
When I first started painting, it was just for myself. As I began working with my grandmother's organization IMRHC (Integrated Multipurpose Recreation & Hobby Center) in India and felt the children's joy as they learned, I felt a new kind of satisfaction. It makes me believe that I can make a difference. Also, meeting heads of state and decision makers allows me to make an impact on both ends of the spectrum.
